Conservative Delusions

If it wasn’t getting so late I’d write more but at least I had to give a link to this bizarro world view of differences between conservatives and liberals. I guess when the facts have shown you are wrong on the issues the next best thing is to claim a bunch of fictitious virtues.

Sorry guys, there’s nothing patriotic about conservatives who vehemently oppose the principles this country was founded upon. They are confusing their jingoism for patriotism. Conservatives who oppose much of the Constitution and promote an imaginary version which exists only in their own heads, most certainly are not the ones who care the most about defending the principles of the Constitution. There’s plenty of other howlers in the article, but these are two of the most blatant.

I rarely follow links to conservative websites, if nothing else i have to purge cookies afterwards. I’m glad I followed this one ’cause now I know what’s wrong, not only with my liberal ways but the entire world– I’m not deeply, fundamentally delusional. I’m actually going to cut and paste this one and keep it as a reminder of what I must strive for every day. I’m not patriotic enough, honest, results oriented or care about the constitution. Plus I hate women and am a lousy christian. Fixing these near fatal flaws will make me a happier person. I’m feeling better already. Oh, the joy!

I have to agree with you that Hawkins’s list is exceedingly stupid. There are plenty of real differences between conservatives and progressives — there’s no reason to make it up.
I have to give it to him on #2 though: “It’s socially acceptable for liberals to lie about conservatives.”
As evidence, I’ll quote your own post today: “Once they get rid of this part of the 14th Amendment, they’ll move on to reversing the freeing of the slaves.”

You’ll note that the comment which you claim to be a lie is tagged as “humor and satire.” Hardly the same as a lie. the real lies are the manner in which Hawkins made up a bunch of stuff about liberals which he tried to pass off as true while simultaneously falsely claiming that it is liberals who lie about conservatives.

Conservatives would rather our country’s laws be based on religious, allegorical, often contradictory nonsense, than the sound, common sense of our Constitution. Right wing blubberheads, spewing nonsense at an alarming rate, all day, everyday on the airwaves, has a huge number of people without a foothold in reality. The vast majority are not in the bracket where fiscal policies favoring only the wealthy favors them, but they lap this slop up from people who screw any and everybody over for money. They don’t see this as contradicting their Christianity. Whatever that’s supposed to be.
