Living in a Red State

I now officially live in a Red State. Those messages now starting to float in the air: Science is fake, turn to the Bible for knowledge…A woman’s uterus is public property…It is cold outside, therefore there cannot possibly be global warming…Invading Iraq was justifiable retribution for the 9/11 attack…MUST RESIST THESE RED STATE MESSAGES!!!

welcome to my world.  i’ve been here in a red state for 25 years.  it’s miserable for a while, then you just get used to it.

Actually I’ve experienced red state life for the past twenty-five years too, living in a very conservative part of what used to be a blue state.

Yep, me too. And I intend to do my part to NOT go along with ’em. (which includes most of my TN family…….oops)

Resistance shouldn’t be too difficult.  You have a brain.

Oh Ron, I really feel for you. I moved South 15 years ago and the longer I live here, the more to the left I go!
If you’re in the same State I am, good luck! The Democrats I have known that live here don’t even dare speak out loud about their political beliefs, or religious for that matter.
Hang in there. It got worse for me living here but you are a smart man who just might be able to help turn things around in your new community.

Mary, its not a new community. I’ve lived in a very conservative area of a blue state for 25 years. Now the state is a red state as the GOP now entirely controls the state legislature. Of course this really has no predictive value as to which way Michigan will go in the next presidential election.
