The Debate Has Concluded

The debate on health care reform had concluded and health care reform should be passed soon. It is a shame we don’t have a serious opposition party which can provide meaningful debate. While there are legitimate objections to health care reform to raise in debate, it is impossible to take Republicans seriously when they stick to bogus talking points about socialism, tyranny, and a government take over of health care. We’ve heard it all before. It has become impossible to take the right wing seriously.

    James says:

I had to turn CSPAN off after the vote went through — I couldn’t stand all the yelling about federally founded abortion though I was intrigued by the event. It was my understanding that the Senate bill had no language that indicated the Hyde Amendment would not still be as valid as it was in the House Bill — so it was painful to hear people stamping their fists about this. But maybe I’m wrong.

There was way too much talk about abortion on a night when the talk should have been about health care.
