Even though the claims of the Swift Boat Liars have been repeatedly disputed, conservatives continue to claim their is some validity to their politically motivated lies. Their claims were contradicted by official records, the testimony of those who actually witnessed the events, and even by previous claims made by some of the Swift Boat Liars. Eric Boehlert noted that Power Line recently claimed that “Most of what the Vets said in their ads has never been disputed, let alone discredited.” Boehlert reviewed the accusations made by the Swift Boat Liars and disputed them. There isn’t anything new here, but it is worth pointing out for those who want yet one more reference.

“”Power Line recently claimed that “Most of what the Vets said in their ads has never been disputed, let alone discredited.””
Yeah. And Powerline has a response up which actually confirms this. Read it and if you disagree say so in the strongest possible terms.
This debate can go on endlessly as long as one side feels free to make up their facts and ignore the record. The post linked here makes goog points but is only a brief overview of some of the facts debunking thr Swift Boat Liars. I also linked to more material in the post, and there is also much more available.
I find it especially amusing that the supposed rebuttal at Powerline concentrates on Cambodia, claiming that Kerry was not there. Considerable evidence has been established showing that Kerry was in Cambodia around the time. As this was a secret mission, it is not possible to say for certain that he was there on Christmas Eve, but at very worst Kerry was off on the date.
It is especially ironic that they continue to use this disputed smear against Kerry when it is actually O’Neil whose credibilty is questioned by Cambodia. O’Neil had told Nixon that he had been in Cambodia, and then later said he was never in Cambodia. One of O’Neil’s claims must be untrue.
I’ve written on Kerry being in Cambodia and O’Neil’s contradictions on Cambodia in the past, some here and more at other blogs before Liberal Values was started. As I don’t have time to dig for those old posts I did quickly find one good site which reviews some of the material on this:
