Originally that had been the stock in trade of the Larouche fringe of the Democratic Party (which is very far right on some issues and very far left on others and just plain weird) and a far right fringe group called the 'Freedom Democrats' who are closer to the American Independent Party than the Republicans, despite being registered Democrats.   Though it wouldn't surprise me if the Republicans were picking up on it all, I know the fringe right bloggers affiliated with them are and that stuff spreads fast.   Have the Republicans started picking up the Nazi metaphors now?
