I guess I don’t know what you’re getting at, Fletch. That the scene would be less horrific if the unhinged officer in question weren’t screaming “Allahu Akbar”?
I was pretty mad when I first checked Memeorandum this morning and found those conservative blogs, so the tone I took when I left those comments that got deleted was, um, unkind. But I remain convinced that anyone who uses this tragedy as a platform to snipe at the President is an unredeemable POS.

It’s quite a thing to imagine an unhinged officer shouting “Allah Akbar” while storming through and mowing down a captive audience of soldiers who sat where I once sat.

You’re right to say, in this post as well as your previous one, that conservatives who use this tragedy as an occasion to slander the President are disrespecting the troops. I was stationed at Fort Hood for years; it’s where I deployed to Iraq from; and it’s where I returned following my rotation. It’s quite a thing to imagine an unhinged officer storming through and mowing down a captive audience of soldiers who sat where I once sat. I told some of these conservative bloggers how I felt today. Is anyone surprised that none of them posted my comments?
