No, they just go through the motions of having opposing points of view. See David Corn's description which I posted here recently. So you admit their ratings are going up in response to all of this (which would be the expected outcome). So much for all the crying from the right that Fox is being persecuted. In a weird way, both sides are actually benefiting from this dispute.

Funny..Fox gets ridiculed for having conservative shows that actually have opposing points of view…Olbermann has never done that. He simply gets ‘yes’ men on his show.

It’s also worth noting that Maddow’s show is billed as an opinion show and makes no claim to ‘deliver the news’ in the manner that Glenn Beck or Bill O’Riley claim to somehow be legitimate journalists. Nor, I imagine, does the Obama Administration consider her show a news show. There is certainly no pretense of a ‘No Spin Zone’ on Maddow or Olbermann’s shows.

Another way of looking at it: Jon Stewart present ‘real’ news in a humorous way; while Fox news presents lies in a somber & ominous way.
A conservative’s brain reacts more readily when fear is triggered, hence they believe Fox News. On the other hand, when a conservative listens to Jon Stewart making fun of the news, they assume that it isn’t ‘real’ news, otherwise he wouldn’t be laughing at it.
After all, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, and the other Fox minions always laugh at liberal ideas, and therefor it ‘has to be’ a joke, and not serious.
