Picture of the Day

This would make more sense than the current motto.

Trusting in science, as a method, has the advantage that if wrong it is self-correcting and accepts change as new information is discovered or if it doesn’t hold up to testing. Scientists might not always be right, but the alternative is going with people who just pull “facts” out of their ass, like creationists, global warming deniers, theologians, and Republicans. (I realize there is redundancy in that list).

    Bad Wolf says:

How about, instead of the “Controversial” Science, we just put:
“In Reality We Trust”  Since so many people are suspicious of, or even afraid of Science.  In many cases they sound much like the villager in “Young Frankenstein” who fears Scientists, because they “want to RULE THE WORLD!”

The problem is that creationists, global warming deniers, theologians, and Republicans would all think that their world view represents. The scientific method is the only valid way to evaluate these matters. If science is “controversial” that is just more of a reason to defend science.
