Candidates For RNC Chairman Show Support For Restricting Individual Freedoms

Republicans might talk about wanting to concentrate on the economy as opposed to social issues but they support the same old policies. Some of the candidates for Republican National Committee chairmanship are speaking to the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List to convince them that they share their beliefs. Politico reports on how the prospective GOP leaders are not only pledging to oppose abortion rights but to also protect their concept of “traditional marriage.”

In other words, the Republican Party continues to show that it is not a party of small government. It is a party which supports increased government power to intrude upon the lives of individuals and impose their views upon others.

If the powers that be in the RNC had any sense, they would tap Sarah Palin to become chairman. She’s a great speaker and fund raiser but has to much ‘baggage’ to be the presidential nominee. Hopefully, they will really try to  vet carefully before choosing a candidate for 2012 – we simply cannot afford another 4 years of Obama.

Sarah Palin’s “baggage” would also prevent her from being an effective party leader. While I’d love to see the GOP commit suicide, the powers that be realize that Palin is far too ignorant on the issues to be of any value.

I can see why Republicans would think we cannot afford another four years of Obama. That just might be enough time for him to restore all the liberties the right wing wants to suppress, and totally restore the US as a free market economy rather than a plutocracy.
