I’m guessing that not so far back as times of slavery or before womens’ right to vote, but a simpler time when man was the breadwinner, women stayed at home and felt it was their duty to have children and sex, especially gay sex, was icky. Kids could pray in school and always obeyed authority. More importantly, the government stayed out of enforcing pesky regulations on businesses like labor laws, unions, disposal of hazardous waste, OSHA, ADA, affirmative action, and other anti-discrimination laws that interfere with a business owner’s right to be an ass… Basically, the good old [fictional] halcyon days of Ozzie and Harriet.
