Care For Your Pets After The Rapture

I would think that any good Christian with a pet would be rushing to take advantage of this offer. After the Rapture they will no longer be on earth, but what of their pets who are left behind. Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, USA promises “The next best thing to pet salvation in a Post Rapture World.”  Their offer:

You’ve committed your life to Jesus. You know you’re saved. But when the Rapture comes what’s to become of your loving pets who are left behind?   Eternal Earth-Bound Pets takes that burden off your mind.

We are a group of dedicated animal lovers, and atheists. Each Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after you’ve received your reward.  Our network of animal activists are committed to step in when you step up to Jesus.

We are currently active in 20 states and growing.  Our representatives have been screened to ensure that they are atheists, animal lovers, are moral / ethical with no criminal background, have the ability and desire to  rescue your pet and the means to retrieve them and ensure their care for your pet’s natural life.

We currently cover the following states:
Maine,New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana … and growing.

Our service is plain and simple; our fee structure is reasonable.
For $110.00 we will guarantee that should the Rapture occur within ten (10) years of receipt of payment, one pet per residence will be saved.  Each additional pet at your residence will be saved for an additional $15.00 fee. A small price to pay for your peace of mind and the health and safety of your four legged friends.

Unfortunately at this time we are not equipped to accommodate all species and must  limit our services to dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and small caged mammals.

The site provides further details on the conditions. They consider all the angles, such as whether a subscriber loses his/her faith and is left behind after the Rapture, or if  a relative residing with a person who is Raptured is left behind and opts to retain the pets.

140 Characters Are All You Need To Express Modern Conservative Thought

This certainly shows how the on line media used corresponds with the message. CNN reports that while liberals dominate the blogs conservatives dominate on Twitter:

Even though President Obama and national Democrats use Twitter – the social micro blog that everyone from Ashton Kutcher and Shaquille O’Neal to Chuck Grassley and Newt Gingrich often use to directly speak to followers – Republicans have embraced the technology. And with major policy issues being debated and the midterm elections right around the corner, liberal bloggers acknowledge the GOP has the upper hand when it comes to using 140 character messages known as “tweets” to influence the discussion.

“While it is obvious the progressive blogosphere is superior, we are being out-organized on Twitter,” said Gina Cooper, a blogger who helped organize Netroots Nation, an annual gathering of online liberal activists that met last week in Pittsburgh. “There is some catching up to do on the progressive side.”

Tracy Viselli, who attended Netroots Nation, agreed with Cooper and admitted that liberal bloggers are ceding this valuable territory to conservatives.

“Twitter is a news funnel,” she said. “Conservatives are very tightly knit and getting their message out very well.”

This certainly makes sense. In the blogosphere it is common to have posts with links to supporting evidence and the information is often open to debate in the comments and from other blogs.  The blogosphere is the on line medium for those who have coherent arguments and the facts to back them up.

The conservative movement is essentially a bumper sticker ideology. They simply ignore the facts whether dealing with Iraq, terrorism, economics, or science if the facts contradict their view points. Their ideas are simplistic. Foreign policy comes down to killing the “IslamoFascists.” Economics is reduced to cutting taxes without any real thought as to what comes next. Immigration policy  becomes a way to politely express their xenophobia and racism. Health care policy comes down to doing nothing and repeating the talking points fed to them by the insurance industry. Climate change can be ignored by ignoring the science. What conservative even needs science when you can explain the creation of life, the universe, and everything by quoting the Bible?

Conservative thought in recent years has become simplistic enough in recent years to easily be expressed in 140 characters.  Any additional characters will only confuse them with the facts.

Letterman Reruns Beat Conan

Those Fire Dave rallies don’t seem to have hurt David Letterman.  Even reruns of The Late Show with David Letterman are now beating Conan.

NBC might not be too upset by this as Conan does win with the younger demographics.
