After a post on the Birther movement, this seems like a good time to insert a recent clip of Jon Stewart mocking them (video above).

Maybe one day Stewart will run for congress which could use a little levity. What a pair he and Al Franken would make.
I would love to see Jon Stewart run.. I am all for more of the “common” folk taking the place of some of these career politicians.. In my opinion, that right there is one of the major flaws of our current system.. The idea of a “Career Politician” scares me.. We have a bunch of people who are much too busy keeping their special interest groups happy, instead of putting forth legislation that really does something to actually help fix our problems.. they forget that their real duty is to represent the people and their needs (and not just rich white people).
Plus, its not like they care anyways, they all live WELL above the middle class and always will considering they have the power to give themselves raises.. Then they have the balls to complain about the big bad government taking over health care and Obama trying to force “socialism” onto the American People, both of which are outright lies, yet they have pretty much any option of health care they want, with upwards of 75% of it paid for by us good old taxpayers.. Which, in a great twist of irony, is a hell of a lot closer to “socialist” health care than anything on the table currently.. It’s disgusting how hypocritical these bastards are.
I really do not see the logic in having a bunch of old white men (mostly) making decisions for a population to which they have absolutely nothing to relate with… This was a huge role in why John McCain was basically laughed at during the election, so why/how do we think it is ok to have people of the same age and disconnectedness in congress and/or the senate?
I mean if you really think about it .. Seems like it might make more sense to have an old decrepit president and younger, in touch congress, than the other way around.. I dunno.. just a thought.
Furthermore, look at all of the complete BS that some of these congress people are introducing as legislation.. Year of the Bible? Banning of Human/Animal Hybrids? Some of this stuff is just ridiculous and a plain waste of time.. College students could come up with better things to do on the taxpayers dime, thats for sure…
