SNL: House Republicans Find Political Gold In Taking Down Obama Girls

Saturday Night Live had a parody of the House Republicans this week. We see them argue over whether Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity is smarter (or whether they have a big tent because they also include those who like Michael Savage). They believe the party is “on top of its game” and see impeaching Obama as a political winner. They believe that the whole country is waiting to see the Obama girls taken down a peg–especially the younger one.

And the Dems want the fairness doctrine because???

Other than for a small number, most Democrats are opposed to restoring the Fairness Doctrine. The right wing has been effective in using scare stories about restoration of the Fairness Doctrine in their fund raising letters.

So, who do you think is the most brilliant man in the world–Rush or Sean? 🙂

well i didn’t laugh once and the audience didn’t do much laughing either… They are both great, but I definitely like Sean more.

Laugh? I’ve often pointed out that Saturday Night Live is not very funny any more. Even if not very funny, the skit does make many points (obviously exaggerated) about current Republicans and the sorry state of conservative thought.

That was a trick question above. Neither Limbaugh or Hannity is a meaningful answer. Compare conservative thought leaders of the not so distant past, such as William Buckley and Milton Friedman, to people like Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, and Coulter. Those who would follow the more recent group are worthy targets of such political satire. It is a shame that, even with such good material, SNL cannot do a better job of also being funny.
