Troopergate Report To Be Moved Up as Palin Stonewalls Investigation

ABC News reports that the report on the Troopergate scandal is being moved up:

ABC News has exclusively learned that Alaska Senator Hollis French will announce today that he is moving up the release date of his investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired. The results of the investigation were originally scheduled for release Oct. 31 but will now come almost three weeks earlier, according to sources.

The Anchorage Daily News complains that Palin is stonewalling the investigation.

Gov. Sarah Palin is taking the wrong approach to Troopergate. She should be practicing the open and transparent, ethical and accountable government she promised when running for governor and boasts about now that she’s on the national stage.

Instead, Gov. Palin has begun stonewalling the Legislature’s attempt to get the bottom of allegations that she, her family or staff violated ethical or state personnel rules.

As a result, the Troopergate allegations hang over Palin’s future and cloud her candidacy for vice president.

Palin is increasingly looking like little more than Spiro T. Agnew without the alliteration–a corrupt governor placed on a ticket to be the attack dog and please the far right who is unfit to be vice president.

I tell you what, this woman is running in the footsteps of Dick Cheney.

If you want to talk about Four More Years, just look at this.  More Bush.  More Cheney.

And she’s got the gun, too.

What the few people in AK who will speak out, due to fear of crossing this woman, make me think that Palin truly is McNasty’s soul mate.  She’s nasty, vindictive, doesn’t listen to any ideas from anyone, sets her mind to something and sticks to it.

We will be in such deep $hit if the GOP manages to succeed with voting machine problems and voter suppression.  I fear for America should that happen.

    MsJoanne,

Until she shoots a friend in the face she’s no Dick Cheney. I see her more as another Spiro Agnew.

How about a Dick Cheney wannabe?  🙂

Depends. Does she want to shoot people in the face? Does she want to lie the country into unnecessary wars?

Maybe you are right about the comparison. Between these comments here I was reading some articles on line. One did compare her governing style to Cheney’s for being unwilling to listen to other viewpoints.

In some ways she might be worse than Cheney with her social views which are extreme even by the standards of the current Republican Party. Barry Goldwater must be rolling over in his grave to see what happened to the movement he is often credited with starting, considering he already felt the GOP had moved too far to the right even when he was alive.

And she considers Iraq the will of god, so would she lie us into a war with Iran?  I am thinking, yes.

    Ron Chusid says:

But she doesn’t always talk about Iraq being the will of god. In another interview she merely said she hasn’t thought about the war. John McCain must really think that having a president who is ready to fight this war is isn’t terribly important.

Right.  And now, she is being trained by Lieberman, warmonger extraordinaire.  Between the will of god and the never thought of it, and chickenhawk Lieberman, the direction is all of going straight to hell.

    Bomb, bomb, bomb…bomb, bomb Iran.

The whole 9/11 tribute at the RNC was nothing short of propaganda to engage the public into favoring war with Iran.  Starting with the Iran Hostage Crisis and ending with it was Iran who was responsible for 9/11, I felt I was watching a repeat of everything that happened prior to us invading Iraq.

Stonewalling investigations is not just a GOP tool, but how they “govern” – along with lies, lies, and more lies.

Talk about more of the same.
