Clinton Threatens Convention Floor Fight

Hillary Clinton, who has felt much more comfortable among  conservatives lately, has discussed her intentions on Fox News, warning she will take the fight all the way to the convention, showing no regard for what damage she might cause:

“You know, you can always go to the convention. That’s what credential fights are for,” she said. “Let’s have the Democratic party go on record against seating the Michigan and Florida delegations three months before the general election? I don’t think that will happen. I think they will be seated. So that’s where we’re headed if we don’t get this worked out.”

The superdelegates need to step up and commit to Obama in the near future to demonstrate to Clinton that it is pointless to remain in the race. NBC News reports that more superdelegates are getting fed up with her tactics:

At a time when Sen. Hillary Clinton is increasingly relying on superdelegates to vault her to the Democratic Party’s nomination, a handful of undecided and pledged superdelegates are coming forward to say her campaign’s tactics in recent weeks are doing more harm than good.

The Democratic Party insiders say they believe Clinton’s direct attacks against Sen. Barack Obama in recent days are hurting the party and its chances in November, and also say it is showing a calculated, desperate-to-win side of Clinton that they dislike.

There have not gotten to the point yet of trying to get Clinton to leave the race, but sooner or later they might realize that this is necessary if they want to win in November. The Democrats cannot afford to have Clinton continue her divisive tactics through August, leaving Obama little time to recover.

I think the superdelegates had better step up within the next WEEK if they hope to have a Democrat in the White House at ALL! Clinton is damaging the party beyond repair! All I know is, if Obama is not the nominee, there is NO WAY I will back Clinton after the events of this past week! Has this woman no honor or integrity?

Can you believe the news media is not reporting on Clinton’s threats against the party. I searched both yahoo and google News searches and came up with nothing about this, even though I blogged on it yesterday evening:

“Now Hillary Clinton Is Threatening The Whole Democratic Party” – http://www.blackperspective.net/index.php/now-hillary-clinton-is-threatening-the-whole-democratic-party/

Yours is the only other article that I found on the whole internet so far, on the subject.

Also she had her big money stooges threaten Nancy Pelosi and the whole democratic congressional campaign, that I write about in that link above. I only found a couple of news articles on that.

Hillary is self-serving to the point of narcissism. She is fairly far behind and she is not polling well, rather than rally behind the leader for the good of the party AND the American people, she is doing everything in her power to destroy him. Bill Clinton was hailed as the “First black president” and was supportive of the African American community in his words and deeds. But should that be called into question, how much of that was truly sincere and how much was just to get their vote?

Right now, for the first time in history a great man who happens to be a black man has a chance to be President. Against great odds, he has won the most delegates and the most popular votes in a fair contest, experts agree the odds against Hillary catching him fairly at this point are poor at best.

Hillary is using every dirty political tactic, her campaign has pulled the race card, they have tried to portray Barack as a Muslim, insinuated that he is unelectable, inexperienced, that his supporters need to get real, with the sole objective being to cause him such catastrophic political damage so that she can win the nomination by default. She is trying to change the rules she agreed to in Michigan and Florida (now that she needs the votes), and is trying to hijack the nomination with superdelegates to the point her supporters are trying to blackmail Pelosi!!!

Personally, I would never vote for a candidate who has lied so often, and so easily to try and get my vote. Who has stooped so low as to try and use Barack’s kindergarten papers against him, and now even after Barack so eloquently addressed the Reverend Wright issue in that historic speech, is using gutter politics to try and bring it up again to take the attention off of her lies about her experience. Talk about living in a glass house and throwing rocks… She says she would not have choosen Reverend Wright, but Barack might not choose to stay with and support a spouse whom cheated on him repeatedly, she is hardly in a position to claim moral high ground.

She has lied about Sniper fire, called Barack a liar in Ohio for his now obviously accurate mailer on her involvement in passing NAFTA, she even lied about something so petty as to why she was named Hillary. In Texas she is a Texan, in New York a New Yorker, In Ohio an out of work union worker…. Hillary has mocked the intelligence of the American people so often and so blatantly, well I think she will be surprised to learn we are not that stupid, and that Barack is not the candidate who is unelectable.

I’m amazed it’s taken this long for liberals to figure out she’s a liar.

Living amongst many conservatives, i’ve heard the comment posted by dockboy expressed a lot lately. Maybe i’m capable of getting along with conservatives because it didn’t take me so long to figure it out.

The problem is simple: the Clintons think that they are the Democratic Party, so there is no internal question of “destroying” the Democratic Party. The only destruction that they can envision is being rejected by the party.

Dems are finally seeing through the Clintons’ deception, and they’re voicing the same objections Republicans have been voicing for years. After a brief period of mourning for a lost illusion, we need to put this ugly phase of the campaign behind us and move on to supporting Barack Obama as our candidate. If we do, he’ll attract a wide swath of the disillusioned Republican electorate because people are looking for a genuine leader, not another phony politician. A left-right coalition will sweep the downticket progressives into office like a tsunami. If we don’t, the Democratic Party is finished.

    Dockboy,

What makes you think it took liberals this long? Many liberals have taken an anyone-but-Clinton position from the start of the campaign. I’ve discussed the ethical problems of the Clintons for a long time.

The difference is that we have specific examples now. Before the campaign I might have believed that the Clintons would say or do anything, including lying and cheating, to win the nomination. However we couldn’t really write on that belief in detail until we had specific examples. We’ve had plenty during this campaign, which I’ve been discussing for the last couple of months.
