Gore Calls Iraq Worst Strategic Mistake in Entire History of United States

Gore launched another strong attack on George Bush’s handling of Iraq on the Today Show:

Calling the Iraq war “the worst strategic mistake in the entire history of the United States” and “worse than a civil war,” former Vice President Gore urged President Bush to find a way to get U.S. troops out of Iraq “as quickly as possible without making the situation worse” while appearing this morning on NBC’s “Today.”

“I would urge the President to try to separate out the personal issues of being blamed in history for his mistake and instead recognizing that it is not about him. It’s about our country,” Gore said in an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer.

Political Wire also notes that Gore’s book, The Assault on Reason, will be released in May, and sees this as a sign that Gore is staying in the race.

The book is expected to be a fiery attack on the current political environment using President Bush’s two terms in office as the main examples.

Please Al, please run for president in 2008 and rescue us from a Hillary Clinton/John McCain matchup.

There’s much work to be done cleaning up the carnage of the Bush-Cheney nightmare.

Yes, please Al run in 2008. It would be the best thing that ever happened to the GOP. Get real Chris.

Yeah, get real Chris. Just because it took going to the Supreme Court to stop a recount to keep Gore from taking office the first time he won, what makes you think he can win in 2008? 🙂

I personally would favor Sen. Kerry to run again. He would make a great president.
